1,000,000 Years and Vanishing NOW...

Groundbreaking new photographs

I worked with critically endangered Chacma Baboons (Papio ursinus) on the spectacular Cape Peninsula of South Africa for four months from November 2008 to March 2009. Learn more about these amazing creatures and see brand new photographs in the galleries.

Like every photo on this site, these baboons are all WILD animals, all photographed in uncontrolled environments! No zoos or "game reserves." After 1,000,000 years on the Cape Peninsula they've been nearly wiped out due to habitat loss and local residents who shoot, poison, and run them over when they get into their houses and gardens looking for food. This is the best look at them anywhere in the world.

There are ten galleries. Click here to start in the sampler gallery. From there you can go to the baboons and other galleries.
